1. Soaked Rat Struggling in Subway Floods Gets Rare Sympathy

It's a rare day when a city rat can capture the sympathy of New Yorkers, but perhaps exceptions are made for one helpless, rain-soaked rodent struggling to navigate rushing floodwaters in the subway.

A subway rider had just gotten off the downtown 6 train at 23rd Street when he spotted the soaked rat clinging to the bottom of a pillar as storm waters surged past him, he told News 4. The entire platform was covered in inches of rushing rain water.

The video drew unexpectedly sympathetic responses.

2. Wedding Guest Finds Racial Slur Scrawled on Valet Ticket

A New Jersey woman went to pick up her keys from a valet and what she found has her fuming.

The woman, who is black, said she left her key with the valet after a wedding because her husband had his own set. She went the next day and saw a racial slur on the tag.

The venue has apologized to her and the company that does valet services for the place says it's investigating and plans to fire the person responsible.

3. Fortnite Match Loser Threatens to Shoot 11-Year-Old Boy: Police

A Long Island man has been accused of threatening to shoot an 11-year-old boy after losing a Fortnite: Battle Royale match, police say.

Michael Aliperti, 45, has been charged with second-degree aggravated harassment and acting in a manner to injure a child aftr he allegedly threatened the Kings Park boy after the loss.

Authorities say Aliperti sent text and voice messages to the teen on Xbox after the loss. In them, he allegedly threatened to shoot the boy, possibly at his school.
