1.'Zombie' Rat Climbs Out of Bathroom Sink in NYC Couple's Apartment

A Brooklyn couple experienced firsthand one of New York City’s most disgusting urban legends: a rat came wiggling its way out of their plumbing.

Bari Finkel said a rat crawled out of the sink drain in their Bedford-Stuyvesant brownstone Friday night.

Finkel said it was actually her boyfriend who discovered something amiss with the sink -- which had no stopper because of a slow drain -- while using the restroom. 

They were a little wary of using the bathroom for a few hours after the critter’s visit, Finkel said, but they don’t have any plans to change their routine -- other than replacing their sink stopper.

2. Boy Who Loves Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade Gets Surprise of His Life

A boy who's been fascinated with the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade for years got the shock of his life when his parents surprised him on his birthday with a special announcement.

Alex Harris has been obsessed with the parade since watching it for the first time as a 4-year-old boy back in 2012. His mother says she had no idea her son was about to become the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade’s biggest fan.

For months, they saved up enough money for plane tickets to get to New York City and waited for the perfect time to surprise their son.

During his 10th birthday party, his parents presented the surprise to him -- and his sweet, shocked reaction was captured in a touching video.
