1. New NJ Laws Aim to Ease Strain of Student Loans

New Jersey student loan borrowers who find themselves in financial difficulty could find relief under a pair of new laws signed by Gov. Murphy.

Murphy signed the legislation and credited the bills with giving borrowers, who have outstanding principal of nearly $2 billion, the ability to stay in the state.

The bills passed the Democrat-led Legislature with near unanimous support and stem from a 2016 New York Times report that detailed how New Jersey's loan programs denied loan forgiveness to co-signers even after borrowers died.

2. Ben & Jerry's Issues Limited Chunky Monkey Recall

Unilever has issued a limited voluntary recall of a limited quantity of Ben & Jerry's Chunky Monkey pints and Ben & Jerry's Coconut Seven Layer Bar, which may include nuts that are not declared in the ingredient list or allergy information list.

The company said the ice cream may contain tree nuts including almonds, Brazil nuts and hazelnuts.

People who have allergies or severe sensitivity to these undeclared tree nuts run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they eat the ice cream products.

3. 'Avengers: Endgame' Obliterates Records With $1.2B Opening

"Avengers: Endgame" shattered the record for biggest opening weekend with an estimated $350 million in ticket sales domestically and $1.2 billion globally, reaching a new pinnacle in the blockbuster era that the comic-book studio has come to dominate.

The "Avengers" finale far exceeded even its own gargantuan expectations, according to studio estimates.
