1. MTA Conductor Stabbed in Broad Daylight; Suspect in Custody

A 33-year-old MTA conductor was stabbed following a dispute in the Bronx, police say.

The incident occurred around 10:40 a.m. at Grand Concourse and E. 138th Street station, according to the NYPD.

The conductor was transported to Lincoln Hospital and is in serious but stable condition after the suspect stabbed him with a switchblade, police say. He is expected to survive.

2. Tentative Agreement Reached in Stop & Shop Strike

A tentative agreement has been reached between Stop & Shop and its striking employees, bringing an end to a work stoppage that reached its 11th day.

United Food and Commercial Workers Locals 328, 371, 919, 1445 and 1459, which represent nearly 31,000 employees across Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island, will return to work on Monday.

If ratified, the deal is for three years and will include increased pay for all associates, continued health coverage for those eligible and an ongoing defined benefit pension for those eligible.

3. Citi Bike Offers Free Rides on Earth Day

Citi Bike is offering free rides Monday in celebration of Earth Day.

“Citi Bike wants to encourage more New Yorkers to complete a carbon-neutral commute this Earth Day. Not only is cycling a sustainable option, but it can be faster and it’s definitely way more fun than other ways to get around,” Citi Bike Market Manager Brian Geraghty said in a statement.

Riders can obtain their free day pass by downloading the Citi Bike app Monday, selecting a Day Pass, and entering the promo code EARTHDAY19.
