1. Mega Millions Jackpot at $970 Million as Drawing Approaches

It's called Mega Millions, but if you win today you are looking at nearly a billion dollars. 

The jackpot for Friday night's drawing is an astounding $970 million. That is the second-largest drawing in lotto history. 

The winner could take the total amount over the next 29 years or opt for a $512 million payday.

2. Witches Plan Hex on Kavanaugh in Brooklyn This Weekend

The fight over Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh may be over, but some modern day witches are to get in the final word. 

An occult bookstore in Bushwick is hosting a ritual on Saturday to hex the new Supreme Court Justice. 

They say the judge is their main target, but they are also going after the patriarchy.

3. Popular NYC Halloween Dog Parade Canceled Over Funding Issues Back On

A popular Halloween dog parade that was canceled indefinitely due to a lack of funding will be happening after all — but not at its namesake location.

The Tompkins Square Halloween Dog Parade will be held from noon to 3 p.m. on Oct. 28 at the East River Amphitheater, organizers said in a Facebook post.

The parade has drawn dog owners, costumed dogs and spectators to the East Village’s Tompkins Square Park for the past 28 years, organizers said previously.
