1. 12 Shots Fired, 6 Hit Reputed NYC Mob Boss in Deadly Ambush

The reputed boss of New York's Gambino crime family was struck at least six times when he was shot to death in front of his Staten Island home not long after dinnertime, marking the city's first mafia don killing in more than three decades.

Francesco "Franky Boy" Cali, 53, was found with multiple gunshot wounds to the torso outside his home on Hilltop Terrace in Todt Hill.

The 911 caller had initially reported a man had been run over by a vehicle on purpose and that he was trapped; the caller then said he had also been shot multiple times. Cops found Cali bullet-ridden when they responded to the call around 9:20 p.m.

2. Phase One of Hudson Yards Project Set to Open Friday

Inside the marble floors are being polished, while outside the final pieces come together.

All this work is in preparation for the completion of the first phase of New York City’s newest neighborhood — a whopping real estate development set to open Friday.

The Hudson Yards project is a 15 acres, $16 billion investment featuring 100 retail stores, including the city’s first Neiman Marcus.

3. You Can Soon Walk Among 40 Life-Size Dinosaurs at NYC Zoo

Visitors to the Bronx Zoo will be transported back in time thanks to an immersive, realistic dinosaur-centric experience.

Dinosaur Safari – described as the biggest, most realistic dinosaur ride in America – will open to the public on April 19.

The immersive experience allows visitors to experience a two-acre wooded area of the Bronx Zoo among 40 realistic and life-sized animatronic dinosaurs.
