1. NYC Doctor Accused of Sexually Abusing Woman During Breast Cancer Screening

A New York City doctor landed in handcuffs on Thursday. 

Dr. Mark Jackson is facing sex abuse charges after authorities say he groped a woman while giving her a breast exam. 

Prosecutors say he worked at an addiction treatment facility in Harlem for about three years and had actually been convicted of selling controlled substances by the feds in 1996. 

They are looking into whether any of his other patients were also abused.

2. Annual East Village Halloween Dog Parade Canceled Due to Lack of Funds

An annual Halloween dog parade that’s become an institution in the East Village has been cancelled indefinitely due to a lack of funding.

The Tompkins Square Halloween Dog Parade, which has drawn costumed dogs and owners to Tompkins Square Park for the past 28 years, won’t be taking place this year, its organizers said.

The city’s Parks Department is asking for "a large insurance and liability policy in order to hold the event this year — and we simply don’t have the funds or sponsors willing to provide it," the organizers wrote.

3. New York Public Library Is Doing Something Unique on Instagram

The New York Public Library is doing something special on Instagram. 

They are calling it "Insta Novels" and it is a way for people to read some classics like Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.
