LIRR Service Resumes With Delays After Service Suspended Between Atlantic Terminal, Jamaica

Long Island Rail Road service has resumed with residual delays and some cancellations after service was suspended in Brooklyn during the Wednesday evening rush, transit officials say.

Service was restored around 6 p.m., less than an hour after LIRR tweeted that service had been suspended between Atlantic Terminal and Jamaica because of switch trouble at Atlantic Terminal.

Shortly after 6:30 p.m., LIRR said it was still experiencing residual delays averaging 20 minutes and some cancellations between the two transit hubs.

NYC Transit is no longer cross-honoring LIRR tickets via the 2/3 subway at Atlantic Terminal for service to Penn Station.
