Knife-Wielding Robber Strikes Again: Long Island Police

A knife-wielding thief who has robbed several donut and ice cream shops on Long Island has struck again, police said Tuesday.

The masked robber entered a Subway store in New Hyde Park at about 9:45 a.m. Monday and demanded cash from the 20-year-old woman working at the counter, Nassau County police investigators said. He threatened her with a large kitchen knife and she handed him an undisclosed amount of cash.

There were no customers in the store at the time and the employee wasn't harmed.

Police say the robber has hit at least ten businesses in nine towns across Long Island, including six Dunkin' Donuts and two ice cream shops.

In each robbery, the suspect waited until the store was empty, then barged in with a knife and stole money.

Nassau County police said Tuesday that a $10,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the robber.

Anyone with information about the robberies should call the Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
