Missing Teen With Developmental Disabilities Found in Bronx Store: NYPD

The 16-year-old girl with developmental disabilities who went missing in the Bronx earlier this week has been found safe, police say.

Karla Galarza was found Thursday evening at a Bronx clothing store, according to the NYPD. A store employee recognized Galarza from an image of the teen she saw on TV and called police.

Officers arrived on scene, confirmed that the girl was Galarza and returned the 16-year-old to her foster home in Putnam County. The girl is said to be in good condition.

Galarza, who suffers from low cognitive function, bipolar disorder and other psychological conditions, went missing Tuesday after running away from a caregiver while leaving a medical clinic.

She wasn't wearing a winter coat at the time.
