Armed Robbers Sought in Brazen Midtown Jewelry Store Heists

A pair of armed thieves are being sought in at least three armed robberies at midtown jewelry stores over the last two and a half months, authorities say.

According to police, the robbers most recently struck shortly before 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Madison Jewelers on Broadway. Police say they flashed a gun and demanded jewelry and watches, then fled.

On Oct. 9, the suspects held up Kenjo Jewelry Store on West 57th Street. Again, one of the suspects showed a gun and demanded watches from store employees. Both suspects then handed the workers bags to fill with watches and once the bags had been filled up, the robbers fled, police say.

Three weeks earlier, on Sept. 19, the suspects hit Jewelry Patch on Seventh Avenue, again flashing a gun and demanding jewelry. They stole several items and fled, according to police.

Both suspects are described as men in their early to mid 30s. Police released surveillance video of the men leaving Kenjo Jewelry Store with the bags filled with watches.

Anyone with information about the thefts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
