Infant's Remains Found in NJ Recycling Plant

The remains of an infant were found inside a New Jersey recycling facility, along with some blood-stained clothing that may belong to the baby's mother, who police are looking to identify and locate.

A worker moving trash at the ReCommunity Recycling facility on Railroad Avenue in Farmingdale found the remains Tuesday afternoon, state police said.

It's not clear how old the child was. An autopsy was scheduled for Wednesday.

Detectives are searching for the mother and asking anyone who may recognize the clothing pictured to contact them at 732-578-0490.

Last November, an infant's body was found inside a plastic bag in a recycling bin in Spring Valley, New York. Items found near the body, including discarded lottery tickets, helped police locate the 24-year-old mother, who admitted to strangling her newborn.
