Husband Arrested for DWI, Wife Seriously Hurt in Crash

Jeffrey Hirsch was set to be arraigned on Wednesday.

A Long Island woman was seriously injured in a two-car crash, and her husband was arrested for DWI, police say.

Suffolk County police say Jefferey Hirsch of Bay Shore was driving in East Farmingdale Tuesday night when he struck the rear of a car driven by Ronald Giovelli.

Police say Hirsch's wife, Pauline, was transported to a hospital where her injuries were described as serious.

Giovelli and Jefferey Hirsch suffered minor injuries. They were treated and released.

Hirsch was set to be arraigned on Wednesday.

Information on his lawyer was not immediately available.
