New York Kitchen Teaches How to Decorate a Gingerbread House

Holiday baking is no easy task, so we sat down with Chef Nicole Bassis of Taste Buds Kitchen to learn the basics of gingerbread house decorating.

A pre-made gingerbread house is the best bet for success, as homemade houses can fall apart and struggle to fit together, she says. To assemble the house, simply ice the areas where you want it to stick together.

Next comes the fun part-- decorating. Add as much candy as you want and glue it to the house with icing, making sure to hold the candies down for a few seconds so they stick.
