NY Man Offers Services as Hired Killer on Dark Web: Prosecutors

Authorities in New Jersey say a New York man has been charged with offering his services as a hired killer on the dark web in exchange for money and a gun outfitted with a silencer.

Prosecutors in New Jersey said Monday that 18-year-old Joshua Rowling has been charged with conspiracy to commit murder for hire and weapons-related charges.

Authorities say county and federal investigators determined Rowling used an encrypted online network to offer his services as a hit man.

They say Rowling drove to Mahwah from his Richmondville, New York home late last week to meet with an undercover officer who he thought was seeking killing services.

Rowling remains jailed in New Jersey. His bail is set at $1 million.

Attorney information for Rowling wasn't immediately available.
