An airplane hangar under construction in New Jersey collapsed Friday morning, seriously injuring a 35-year-old man who was working on the project, authorities say.
The Toms River man was working on the hangar at Morristown Municipal Airport when the structure, which at that point only had steel erector beams in place, collapsed around 11:15 a.m., police said.
He fell from an unknown height, seriously injuring his leg. He was taken to a hospital in stable condition.
A second worker toiling on the construction project was treated for bruising on his arm. The worker, a 37-year-old from Egg Harbor, was taken to the hospital for evaluation but is expected to be fine.
It's not clear why the hangar collapsed.
Representatives from the Occupational Health and Safety Administration are assisting in the investigation.
