Police have released surveillance video of a vicious beat down of a man on a Brooklyn street in an attempt to identify and arrest the four people in the brutal attack.

The video shows a man punching the 47-year-old victim in the face and knocking him onto the ground in front of 779 New Lots Ave. in East New York on Wednesday, Sept. 26, police say.

As the attacker continues to pummel the man on the ground, three women approach and begin to rifle through his clothing, video shows. The victim, Marcelle Santiago, spoke to News 4 New York Tuesday.

"I was getting off the train," said Santiago. "I just came home from work. And I don't bother nobody."

He said one of the women approached him, first asking for a cigarette and then trying to sell him marijuana. When he refused, they began attacking him.

"He hit me from the back of my head," he said of the man.

The women searched through his pockets and took what he wouldn't give them -- a pack of Newport cigarettes.

Santiago was rushed to Brookdale Hospital following the attack, where he spent three days being treated for severe head trauma.

"I'm so blessed I'm not dead," he said after watching the video of his own brutal attack.

"I just want justice."
