Man Suffocated Quadriplegic Girlfriend While Toddler Was Home: Cops

Authorities say the suspect has more than two dozen previous arrests, primarily on drug-related charges

Police arrested a man for allegedly suffocating his quadriplegic girlfriend in their Brooklyn apartment over the weekend.

Police say the couple's 2-year-old son was in the house when police found the body of Melissa Torres in a bathtub Sunday morning.

Angelo Sanchez, 41, was charged with murder and endangering the welfare of a child. Police say he had 29 prior arrests, mostly for drugs.

The 32-year-old Torres was pronounced dead at the scene. The toddler was not harmed.

Information about Sanchez's attorney wasn't immediately available.
