Giants Diverted to Kansas City

Big Blue, Big Blizzard

The New York Giants are scheduled to play the Minnesota Vikings tomorrow in Minneapolis, but for now they're hanging in the Kansas City airport.

The Giants tried to beat the storm by leaving three hours earlier, at 9:30 this morning instead of the usual noon takeoff.  But their plane was still diverted to Missouri because of the blizzard, which  forced the Minneaspolis-St. Paul Airport to close.  The G-Men's arrival in the Twin Cities is still uncertain.

NFL spokesman Greg Aiello told NFL.com the league still planned to play the Giants-Vikings game at noon CT. If the Giants weren't able to reach Minneapolis on Saturday night, he said, they would fly in Sunday morning, hours before kickoff.
