If you’re a gelato lover, or love creating the cool treat, then you’re in luck! Gelato Festival America is coming to New Jersey this summer.

The touring festival, which makes stops in cities around the country, will come to Liberty State Park in Jersey City on Aug. 11 and 12.

The event will feature cold treats and a gelato contest where artisans will compete by creating flavors for the event with the public voting for their favorite.

Gelato Festival America selects the best gelato chefs through 24 touring festivals, spread over 3 years, with an American final in 2021, which will lead finalists to the world finals.

During the festival, visitors will also be able to learn the production techniques by watching the artisans at work.

Tickets for the Jersey City festival are $30 for adults, $25 for seniors 65 years and older and $25 for children 3 to 12 years old. Children younger than 2 years old are free.

The mission of Gelato Festival America is to spread the culture of artisan Italian gelato, originally born in Florence, Italy. The festival will stop in other parts of the county including Los Angeles, Dallas, Chicago and Washington D.C.
