Connecticut Homes Briefly Evacuated After Gas Line Ruptures: Officials

Some homes in Connecticut's Fairfield County were briefly evacuated Wednesday afternoon after a gas line ruptured, authorities say.

Residents were cleared out of homes near Intervale and Abbey Roads in Darien after noon, according to police.

Emergency crews, police and utility workers responded and shut off the leak. Residents were able to return to their homes within about two hours.
