The New York Aquarium has a pay what you wish policy on Fridays after 4 p.m. It's a fun, inexpensive place to take your kids after school.
The Brooklyn Brewery has free tours that run on the hour Saturdays from 1-5 p.m. and Sundays from 1-4 p.m. If you want to try some of the beers though, that will cost extra.
