Officials say scores of elderly residents have been evacuated from an assisted living center in New Jersey due to flooding.
The Asbury Park Press reports that 87 seniors were taken from Magnolia Gardens after a pipe burst Saturday evening, flooding the first floor with three feet of water.
Toms River Township said in a statement that it could be "a few days" before residents can return.
The Pleasant Plains fire department found a broken pipe shooting water from the ceiling of the first floor, and the flow couldn't be stopped before water was waist-deep.
The township says electrical panels in the basement were ruined and the two main elevators were left with heavy water damage.
Residents were taken to Green Acres Manor nursing home next door while repairs are completed.
