The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for Essex and Union Counties in New Jersey until 11:15 a.m.
Trained weather spotters reported a thunderstorm producing flash flooding over the Oranges and moving north at 5 miles per hours. Other storms in the warning were near Linden and Rahway.
Rainfall rates of up to 2 inches per hour have been reported at automated weather stations in and around these storms. Additional rainfall amounts of up to an inch are possible in the warned area.
