Tri-State Could See Season’s First Snow Early Saturday

It may still be fall, but the first snowflakes of the season could fall on the tri-state this weekend, according to Storm Team 4.

After a warm start to the week, wet snow showers could come early Saturday as a cold front moves over the region and drops temperatures into the upper 30s, Storm Team 4 says.

Significant snowfall isn’t expected, but it should be the region’s first snow since last winter.

Storm Team 4 says that flakes are expected to turn to rain that will linger into Saturday afternoon. High temperatures Saturday will hit the 40s.

The wet weather should clear in time for the TCS New York City Marathon Sunday morning, though it is still expected to be chilly, with temperatures in the low 40s when runners step up to the starting line on Staten Island.
