A New Jersey man and his 5-year-old daughter have been identified as the victims of a two-vehicle crash on the George Washington Bridge.
50-year-old Hector Pedercini and his daughter, Marianna, died after his SUV crashed into a box truck that was stuck in traffic on the New York-bound side of the bridge on Wednesday night, authorities said.
Pedercini's wife and mother-in-law, and his 1-year-old daughter survived the crash.
The driver of the box truck was not hurt.
One of the victims had to be extricated from a vehicle.
The crash backed up traffic on the bridge late Wednesday night. Delays of 60-to-90 minutes were reported on the bridge shortly after 11 p.m. The bridge didn't completely reopen until around 2:30 Thursday morning.
