FAA: Flights Departing NY, NJ Delayed up to 2 Hours

Flights departing New York and New Jersey are delayed up to two hours after severe weather in the Midwest disrupted air traffic.

The Federal Aviation Administration Web site reported general departure delays at the two major New York airports on Monday night. Departures also were delayed at Newark International Airport in New Jersey.

Earlier, the FAA reported on its Web site that delays were being caused by weather affecting air traffic at Chicago O'Hare International Airport.

But those departure delays had become generalized by about 9:30 p.m.
