A Jet Blue flight leaving Newark Liberty International Airport returned to the airport Monday morning because an engine cover fell off the plane shortly after take off.
According to airport spokeswoman Jenn Friedberg, Flight 507 was leaving for Fort Lauderdale when the metal casing that covers the engine fell off about 6:15 a.m.
The plane returned to the airport and landed safely. There were no injuries.
Airport workers are now cleaning off the debris and trying to figure out what went wrong.
