Hours-Long Standoff With Person Barricaded in NJ Home Ends

An hours-long standoff with a person barricaded inside a home in New Jersey has come to a peaceful end, authorities say.

The Monmouth County prosecutor's office initially reported that a "subject is barricaded" in the home on Route 537 in Colts Neck. The road was shut down in the area, along with Laird Road, for hours, and nearby Dorbrook Park was also been shut down to the public "for safety concerns," spokesman Chris Swendeman said.

By the afternoon, Monmouth County prosecutor's office said the standoff ended with a "peaceful resolution," and no one was hurt.

All roads were re-opened.

It's still not clear why the individual was barricaded in the home.
