Elderly New Jersey Man Airlifted to Hospital After Colliding with Deer

Police say a 70-year-old man was airlifted to a hospital after his Vespa scooter collided with a deer in northern New Jersey.

NJ.com reports that the man crashed just before 4:30 p.m. Sunday in Washington Township. Police say he was driving his scooter when the deer entered the roadway.

Investigators say he suffered cuts and scrapes from the crash. The man was wearing a helmet and was taken to Morristown Medical Center for evaluation.

Authorities are investigating the crash.
