A man who crashed his car into a tree Saturday, killing a passenger, was accused of drunk driving, authorities said.
Mandeep Singh, 21, of Edison, has been charged with driving while intoxicated and death by auto, the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office said.
Joel Patrone, 22, of Edison, was killed after the car Singh was driving veered off the road and hit a tree, officials said.
An unidentified woman was also in the car. Authorities say she is in good condition.
All three people were taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. Official say Singh is in stable condition.
It's not clear whether Singh has an attorney.
