Driver Stopped for Traffic Violation Found with Counterfeit Bills: Cops

The man was also driving with a revoked license, police said

A Long Island man pulled over for a traffic infraction faces a slate of charges accusing him of having fraudulent credit cards and counterfeit twenty-dollar bills, police said Sunday.

Kevin Patrick, 38, of Hempstead, was stopped for failing to signal a turn Saturday afternoon in Baldwin, investigators said.

During the stop, a officer found that Patrick had a fraudulent North Carolina driver license, three fraudulent credit cards and $540 in counterfeit bills, investigators said.

The officer also found that Patrick's New York State driver license had been revoked.

In addition to the traffic infraction, Patrick was charged with several counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, police said.

There was no indication he had obtained a lawyer who could comment on the charges.
