A driver has died in a crash involving a car and a box truck in Jersey City, authorities say.
It's not clear what caused the vehicles to crash at Paterson Plank Road and Congress Street just before 12:30 p.m. Tuesday. Police and said the driver of the vehicle was killed in crash, and the 41-year-old passenger was taken to Jersey City Medical Center in critical condition.
Firefighters extricated a 44-year-old driver from the box truck, and he was taken to Jersey City Medical Center with serious injuries.
Traffic was closed on Paterson Plank Road as authorities investigated the crash.
