Firefighters had to extricate the driver from a Range Rover that slammed into the rear of a semi-trailer truck Thursday afternoon near the Lincoln Tunnel, police said.
The driver, a woman whose name wasn't disclosed by police, was taken to a local hospital. The woman sustained fractures to both legs, police said.
It took rescuers about 30 minutes to remove her from the wreckage.
The front of the Range Rover was pinned under the Sysco Foods truck.
The accident snarled traffic for hours in Weehawken near the tunnel.
