Authorities in New Jersey are investigating a double shooting that resulted in the death of a 17 year old and left another teen injured.
According to Acting Essex County Prosecutor Robert Laurino and Newark Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose, the shooting took place shortly before midnight Tuesday in the 700 block of Broadway near Grafton Avenue in Newark.
Jabari Montplaisir, 17, was pronounced dead at the scene, while an 18-year-old, who was also shot, was transported to University Hospital.
The 18 year old is in critical condition, according to authorities. His name is not being released at this time.
Currently, no arrests have been made. However, the investigation is ongoing.
