Donald Trump Gives Kid $20 Bill, High-Five Before Voting in NYC

Donald Trump greeted a pair of first graders hoping to catch a peek at the Republican presidential nominee as he headed to vote on Election Day with high-fives and a little bit of cash.

Trump was walking into P.S. 59 in midtown to cast his ballot alongside his wife Melania and daughter Ivanka, but stopped when he saw Jude Kazan in a T-shirt emblazoned with the words “I am your future president.” Cameras flashed as he read the shirt and gave Jude and another student a high-five before pulling out his wallet and giving the second child a $20 bill.

Trump then continued on to cast his ballot, but the short exchange is likely one Jude is going to remember.

“We were pumping our fists,” he said.

Jude told NBC 4 New York that he’s already mapped out a path to the White House, and plans to run on a campaign to fix potholes in New York City and the rest of the country.

Valarie Kazan, Jude’s mother, said that he has been keeping a close eye on the election this year. She said been trying to keep him from seeing too much of the negativity around the race.

“(We tell him) ‘Whoever wins, whether we wanted them to or not, we respect them,’” she said.
