With the weather providing us humidity and constant heat, the first thing we all want to do is to go for a swim in the backyard pool -- and even animals want to beat the heat. On Tuesday morning, Township of Hamilton Police Department got a call to a house for reports of a deer doing laps in a swimming pool.

The deer was taking a refreshing dip on the 2000 block of Skip Morgan Drive, police said in a Facebook post. "This little cutie decided that it was a bit too humid out today and was looking for some relief," the post said.

The deer was trying to stay cool from the heat and humidity, police said. Officers Thumhart, Bakker and McCarthy were able to safely remove the deer from the pool. It relaxed on the patio for a bit before running back into the woods.
