New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio says he will announce this month whether he is joining the growing list of candidates seeking the Democratic nomination for president.
De Blasio said Thursday that he would make his decision "in the month of May." He said he'll let people know as soon as he has something.
De Blasio has made several trips to early voting states like Iowa and New Hampshire to promote his record on police reform, early childhood education and other issues. He said his political action committee, Fairness PAC, has been conducting polling in Iowa.
De Blasio spoke hours after U.S. Sen. Michael Bennet of Colorado announced that he was joining the race, raising the number of Democratic presidential candidates to 21.
