Couple Wanted in Armed Robbery of NJ Turnpike Toll Booth Worker

State police are seeking a couple wanted in the armed robbery of a toll booth on the New Jersey Turnpike.

It happened around 7:45 p.m. Monday at Interchange 15W in Newark.

Authorities say the male driver got out of a car, pressed a knife to the attendant and demanded the cash drawer. The suspect got back in the car and drove off toward Interstate 280 west as the woman sat inside.

The newer model black Toyota Camry did not have a license plate.

The man is described as being about 5-feet-9 and 200 pounds, last seen wearing military-style face paint and a zip-up camouflage sweatshirt. The woman is in her 20s and last seen wearing a yellow shirt or dress with multi-colored tassel.
