Delays Reported During Morning Commute at GWB Due to Accident; Holland and Lincoln Tunnels Both Close As Well

At one point Friday both the outbound Lincoln and Holland Tunnel were closed

Both the Lincoln Tunnel and Holland Tunnel from New York into New Jersey were closed for a time Friday morning, snarling the commute.

The Holland Tunnel was closed by a vehicle fire, while the Lincoln was blocked by a disabled bus. As of 9 a.m., the fire was out at the Holland and the bus was removed at the Lincoln. Delays lingered following the incidents.

Separately, delays of well over an hour were reported in the inbound lanes of the George Washington Bridge Friday morning due to an accident and emergency construction.

An accident involving two tractor-trailers and a car took place in the upper level.

The accident and lanes were cleared by 8:04 a.m. but delays were still more than 90 minutes.
