A defense lawyer is urging jurors to conclude that a man who punched a woman in a dispute over a New York City parking spot never meant for her to end up in a coma.
Summations began Friday in Oscar Fuller's assault trial in Manhattan.
Fuller and Lana Rosas faced off in February over a parking space she was trying to save for her boyfriend.
Prosecutors say Fuller hit the woman in the face out of anger. She fell, hit her head and was in a coma for about a week. She still wears a helmet because of her injuries.
Fuller says he hit her after she struck first. His lawyer says prosecutors haven't proven the electrician intended to cause a serious injury, as the assault charge requires.
