1 Man Killed, Another Arrested After NJ House Fire

Officials in Clifton, N.J., say firefighters found the body shortly after they arrived at the home.

One man was killed and another arrested after a fast-moving fire damaged a northern New Jersey home.

Clifton officials say firefighters found the body shortly after they arrived at the home around 6 a.m. Saturday. They say the fire started in the living room but was quickly contained.

Police soon took a man into custody at the scene and then took him to a nearby hospital for further examination. Authorities said the man and the victim were both in their late 40s, but their identities were not immediately released and no further details were disclosed.

A firefighter also was taken to the hospital with respiratory problems, but was expected to be released later Saturday.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
