Hiker Rescued After Falling off Cliff in Hudson Valley Park

A hiker who fell off a cliff in Rockland County Monday was rescued after a near three-hour ordeal.

The man's condition wasn't known following Monday's accident in Upper Nyack's Hook Mountain State Park. He was conscious and communicating with first responders.

Authorities say it appears the man may have fallen from the upper level plateau to a lower level. It wasn't clear how far he fell.

He was strapped to a stretcher and lowered from the slope to the ground, where he was wheeled out of the woods and placed in an ambulance.
