Pope Launches New App ‘Click to Pray' to Connect With Young People

While you can’t add the pope on Facebook, Snapchat, or Instagram, you can now pray with him anytime, anywhere with a new app.

Click to Pray invites Catholics around the world to accompany the pope in daily prayer. Pope Francis even has his own user profile.

The app was announced during the pope’s weekly public prayer in Vatican City on Jan. 20. The app allows you to pray with the pope and also thousands of other users online.

Users can also set reminders to pray in the morning, afternoon, and night. The app is currently available in six languages – Spanish, English, French, Portuguese, Italian, and German.

It has attracted many users praying for everything from ending abortion to Lady Gaga.

Trolls seem to be few and far between, however some not-so-appropriate posts have still appeared in the online prayer section.

Pope Francis specifically encouraged young people to download the app, saying“the internet and social media are a resource of our time. A way to stay in touch with others, to share values and projects, and to express the desire to form a community."
