Several New York City Council members are set to make their case as the top lawmaker in the city's legislative body.
Council members Mark Levine, Ydanis Rodriguez, Jimmy Van Bramer Jumaane Williams will all discuss their priorities for City Council at the debate at the 92nd Street Y in Manhattan at 6:30 p.m. Monday.
The council members are expected to discuss their priorities for the council, including issues important to New Yorkers over 50 years old, including affordable housing, transportation, support for caregivers and livability.
The speaker will replace Melissa Mark-Viverito, who is leaving office at the end of this year because of term limits for city council members.
The debate is sponsored by Telemundo 47, NBC 4 New York, NBC Latino and AARP New York.
