Charges Dropped in Brooklyn Pizzeria Owner Slashing

The district attorney has dismissed all charges involving a bloody dispute between a popular Brooklyn pizzeria owner and another man.

The charges were dropped after Lucali pizzeria owner Mark Iacono and Benny Geritano declined to testify against each, fearing self-incrimination.

Spokesman Jerry Schmetterer said Tuesday that the DA's office had no case to take to the grand jury.

The lawyers for both men said they were happy with the outcome.
The men slashed each other during an argument in April. When police couldn't determine who started the fight, both men were charged with attempted murder and other crimes.

Prosecutors refused to grant immunity to either man were he to testify before a grand jury.
