Authorities say a carbon monoxide leak in a New York City building sent four people to a hospital and spurred a brief evacuation.
The Fire Department says no one appears to be seriously injured after the episode early Friday evening at a five-story building at Ninth Avenue near West 45th Street.
No further information on the people's conditions was immediately available later Friday from authorities or the hospital.
FDNY Battalion Chief Mike Meyers tells the New York Post that when firefighters arrived, they measured the gas at 100 times safe levels.
The building houses a restaurant and several apartments. People were allowed back in later Friday evening.
A woman who answered the phone at the restaurant, Turkish Cuisine, told NBC 4 New York everyone was OK after the incident.
