A driver’s car was spattered with concrete as she drove across the George Washington Bridge Tuesday morning, her son said.
Cory Mais’ mother was driving to work on the lower level of the bridge around 11:25 a.m. when her vehicle and at least three others were splashed with concrete residue, he told News 4.
A photo Mais tweeted later shows his mother’s car covered with the residue.
The Port Authority on Tuesday confirmed the incident had taken place.
The agency "took immediate mitigation measures as soon as it discovered that concrete residue was leaking onto the George Washington Bridge roadway from a bus ramp project being done above it by a contractor in order to preserve a state of good repair,” it said in a statement.
