Elderly Woman Killed After Getting Struck by SUV in Brooklyn

Her 68-year-old daughter was also hit, and is listed in stable condition

An elderly woman was killed and her 68-year-old daughter was injured Saturday night when they were struck by an SUV in Brooklyn, police said.

Gitzella Katz was walking between cars with her daughter on Clymer Street near the Taylor-Wythe Houses in Williamsburg when they were struck by a 2012 Toyota Highlander, authorities said.

Police said the 26-year-old driver of the car was backing into a parking spot when he struck the women.

Katz and her daughter were both brought to Bellevue Hospital, where Katz was pronounced dead and her daughter, identified by the New York Post as Judy Fischer, remains in stable condition.

Witnesses told the paper Katz is a Holocaust survivor.

Police said there is no criminality suspected with the driver of the SUV, and the investigation is ongoing.
