A trio of men armed with a cane and a knife robbed two men of everything they had while they were outside toking on cigars, police say.
On Friday around 3 a.m. the NYPD says the two victims were puffing away on the tobacco products outside a Bronx building on Manor Avenue in Soundview when three suspects came up to them demanding everything they had.
One of the men grabbed a victim by the neck with his cane and took all the cash he had on him, cops said. Then the knife-wielding suspect threatened to stab him if he didn’t hand over his wallet.
At the same time, a third suspect went through the second victim’s pockets and snatched up a cellphone and cash, according to authorities.
Once the thieves were satisfied they ran away, heading down Manor Avenue toward 172nd Street, police said. The victims were not injured.
Investigators released surveillance footage of the trio, who police say all appear to be in their 20s. Witnesses are urged to call Crime Stoppers with tips that could lead to an arrest.
